Prints direct from the photographer

Prints are prepared to order, carefully processed and printed by the photographer, each image proof tested before being finally printed and dispatched.

Prints are made using premium Epson Claria inks and if carefully mounted under glass in a frame they will not fade or colour adjust in a typical lifetime. They are printed on A4 paper and all aspects of final appearance may be discussed with you including your choice of paper.

The regular price is £15 and for premium fine art paper the cost is £18.50. Delivery will be an additional cost, normally £2.50 in the UK.

Matt finish has a weight of 240gsm and has a smooth, non-glare surface. It has a lower contrast when printed and has an advantage that photos can be viewed accurately from a wide range of angles.

Smooth Pearl (280gsm) has a slight gloss with a subtle texture. It has a deeper colour-saturation than matt and higher contrast.

The fine fine art matt paper that I use is 285gsm fibre based and combines enhanced viewing angles with added contrast albeit not as punchy as the Smooth Pearl.

The aim is that you will receive your chosen print(s) within 5 days or less of placing an order. Sometimes, most obviously when the photographer is away from home for an extended period there will be delays but you should be kept informed and given an option to postpone or cancel your order.

Other uses of images

Images for editorial use in newspapers, magazine and blog articles are catalogued in the photo archive section of this site. Prices for single use start at £12. You pay securely using debit or credit card through PayPal; only your funds are passed on to the photographer, not your card details. Just because an image is made available on this site does not make it appropriate for the use you intend. In particular, many images on this site are not suitable for commercial use - that is why they are made available for use editorially only by newspapers, magazines or book publishers. If you misuse images then people or brands featured may take exception to your business using their image and you expose yourself to possible legal action. You are not purchasing a ROYALTY FREE image. You are purchasing a right to use an image in the limited ways described. If you use the image in other ways then other fees will be payable. In the event of abuses of images supplied you will be charged at the full reference price for the use(s) you have made of the image. The more flagrant copyright abuses of images from this site, principally where a photo has been used without any permission, will be charged at least twice this rate. Costs and other damages that may arise from your use of the images will also be recovered. Please be aware that many forms of copyright infringement are a CRIMINAL offence under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Almost every image that you find on the internet is automatically the copyright of the photographer who captured that image whether or not you see the photographer's name or a reference to copyright on the web page or social media site.
